The Tainan City Preschool Association and the Xinhua International Lions Club, among other groups, have responded to Mayor Huang Wei-che's vision of caring for infants and young children in the city. They jointly funded the donation of 11 AEDs to be installed in public childcare facilities throughout the city, with a total value exceeding NT$660,000.
Mayor Huang Wei-che stated that in recent years, public spaces both domestically and internationally have been promoting the installation of AEDs. Tainan City is also continuing to promote the installation of AEDs in both public and private sectors to provide immediate assistance to patients who have lost cardiopulmonary function or whose hearts have stopped beating. If a child in a childcare center suddenly experiences cardiac arrest due to illness, the director or childcare staff can use the AED to apply pediatric and infant defibrillation pads and follow the AED's instructions to provide shock therapy while waiting for 119 emergency medical personnel to arrive. This can improve the success rate of subsequent resuscitation and maximize the impact of the compassion of all sectors of society!
The AED, SCHILLER PA-1, is designed for the general public and features voice prompts in both Mandarin and Taiwanese. It is lightweight and easy to carry to various emergency scenes, with straightforward and user-friendly operation. The device can also automatically analyze heart rhythms and perform cardiac shocks, helping to secure precious golden rescue time for patients!
